MUZAMIL FAYAZ
Born in Nowpora Tral, Kashmir, Muzamil Fayaz grew up between education, technology, family enterprise and the agricultural land that would eventually shape his approach to business.
From
Nowpora
to the world.
A story that begins in a Kashmiri village, passes through classrooms and technology, and eventually returns to the land.
NOT JUST
A CAREER.
A JOURNEY.
Muzamil Fayaz was born in Nowpora Tral, Kashmir. His story is rooted in a place where education, agriculture and family enterprise have always existed alongside one another.
His journey would eventually move through schools, university, software development, public relations and entrepreneurship — but the connection with Kashmir and its land remained constant.
More than
a résumé.
A conventional biography can list schools, degrees, dates and occupations. Muzamil’s story is better understood through the connection between those things.
Computer applications led to software development. Software led to an understanding of the digital world. Public relations added another dimension: communication, people and how stories travel.
Business brought all of those experiences together — not by leaving Kashmir behind, but by finding a way to take something deeply connected to Kashmir beyond its geographical boundaries.
The classrooms
that shaped the journey.
The academic journey moved from local schooling in Tral to university-level computer applications and software development, followed by postgraduate study in public relations.
Aglow Public School
Schooling through the 8th standard, building the foundation years in the familiar surroundings of Kashmir.
M.T.I. Tral
Continued schooling at M.T.I. Tral up to the 10th standard.
Government Higher Secondary School, Dadasara Tral
Completed higher secondary education at Government Higher Secondary School, Dadasara, Tral.
Anna University
Pursued undergraduate studies in Computer Applications. This marked the beginning of a deeper academic connection with computing and technology.
Software Development
Continued at the same university with postgraduate studies in Software Development, strengthening the technical foundation that would later become useful in the digital business world.
Master’s in Public Relations
Pursued a Master’s in Public Relations from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), adding communication and public-facing strategy to the technical background.
Technology
met
communication.
Software development taught him how digital systems work. Public relations taught him how people, communication and reputation work.
Together, they created a foundation that would later become particularly relevant to a business trying to move from a local market into the online world.
The result was not simply learning technology for its own sake. It was learning how technology could be used to connect people, products and places.
In 2017,
the family
business
went online.
The decision was not about abandoning the traditional family business. It was about extending it.
A business with roots going back to 1977 had something that could not be manufactured by an internet startup: history, local knowledge, relationships and a connection to the land.
The internet offered a way to take that local foundation and introduce it to customers beyond Kashmir.
2017
The beginning of the online chapter of the family business.
Established in 1977.
Reimagined for the internet.
The foundation was already there. The challenge was to build a modern way of presenting and selling what the family had known for generations.
The Beginning
The family business was established in 1977, creating a foundation long before online commerce became part of everyday life.
The Digital Chapter
Muzamil began taking the family business online, using technology to connect Kashmir’s products with customers beyond the local market.
Local Roots
The business continues to be connected to Kashmir, its farmers, its agricultural products and its distinctive regional identity.
Not just
selling
Kashmir.
An important part of Muzamil’s business story is that agriculture is not simply a marketing theme.
The family has its own agricultural connection and saffron lands, including involvement in the cultivation and sourcing of products associated with Kashmir.
That creates a different relationship with the products: the story begins closer to the soil, rather than only at the point where a finished package reaches a warehouse.
Don’t just
sell Kashmir.
Live it.
The difference is not in shouting louder than everyone else. It is in having something real to say.
A software background. A public-relations education. A family business established in 1977. Agricultural land. Saffron. Kashmir. And an understanding of the internet.
We farm it.”
A local
story with
a global
window.
KASHMIRCART grew from this intersection of family business, agriculture and technology.
The objective is not simply to put a product online. It is to give customers a closer look at where the products come from, who works with them and why Kashmir matters to the story.
From saffron and walnuts to honey, berries, spices, traditional products and other Kashmir-connected goods, the platform is intended to carry the identity of the place along with the product.
We farm it.
Four worlds.
One direction.
Muzamil’s work sits at the intersection of several disciplines that began at different points of the journey.
Software
Building and working with digital systems, websites and online experiences.
Public Relations
Understanding communication, presentation, reputation and how stories reach people.
Entrepreneurship
Taking a family business into the online marketplace and building new ways to reach customers.
Agriculture
Remaining connected to land, farming, saffron and the products that give the business its identity.
